UNIVERSAL CITY, California — All manner of Golden Popcorn trophies were passed around on the stage of the Gibson Amphitheatre at the MTV Movie Awards this year, but there were plenty of wins to be found behind the scene as well — such as the one between comedy titans Adam Sandler and Charlie Sheen.

MTV News' Josh Horowitz spoke with Sandler, Andy Samberg and Leighton Meester backstage at the Movie Awards and asked them all about their upcoming comedy "That's My Boy." The hard-R-rated comedy has been a hot topic in our circle all week long (we hosted an exclusive premiere of "That's My Boy" during Sneak Peek Week, you'll recall), and this was one of our first opportunities to speak with Sandler about the flick — but the Happy Madison founder left it to his younger co-star Samberg to summarize what fans can expect from the film.

"Do you like raucous rock-and-roll humor that makes you whizz your pants with laughter? Then maybe you should see this movie," the former "SNL" star advised.

Speaking of raucous rock-and-roll humor, the "That's My Boy" interview reached an abrupt conclusion when party boy Charlie Sheen, on hand to bestow Instant Cult Classic status upon found-footage party movie "Project X," unexpectedly showed up to meet and greet his old friend, Sandler.

"Charlie!" Sandler happily reacted. "Me and Charlie, baby! Good to see you!"

Sheen, subdued but pleased, embraced his old pal and kept chatting with him as he passed by. "I gotta go get assigned to my seat, man," he said. "Are you here all night?"

While the two were speaking, Samberg couldn't help but observe a secret connection between the reunited actors: Sheen is starring in an adaptation of "Anger Management," Sandler's 2003 comedy of the same name.

"This is as exclusive as it gets, you guys," Samberg laughed at the camera. " 'Anger Management' franchise much?"

When Sandler returned to the "That's My Boy" interview, he laughingly brushed off the jabs Samberg was sending his way. "Charlie and I were hanging," he grinned. "What do you need from me? That's an old friend! We're old friends, man! You're new friends!"

"Un-be-ree-vable," Samberg said with feigned disappointment.

Jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, gut-busting moments galore. See what just happened at the 21st annual MTV Movie Awards!
